Maria Kelly was born in 1882 in Liverpool. When she was less than a year old she emigrated with her mother and sisters to America, following her father Robert who had emigrated the previous year.
In America the family settled in Manhattan in New York City. Maria worked as a dress maker as a young woman. In 1904 she married Edward Jay Drumm. Maria has yet to be researched after her marriage.

This birth index entry is most likely on the basis that when the family emigrated in August 1883 they said Margaret was 11 months old. However, it does conflict with the 1900 American census in which they said Margaret had been born in November 1881. The birth certificate would have to be obtained to verify whether it is the right one.
