The family record of Oliver Wait was copied from an 'old record' (presumably a page from the Oliver Wait family bible, but that original is in other hands if it still exists) and given to Henry Wait of Tioga, NY. It resided in a trunk at the homestead at Waits, Tioga, New York until it was discovered by a great-granddaughter of Henry's circa 1920. Another hand written copy was made and sent to cousin Mina Finch for her use. That copy resides in Iowa. In it is spelled the name 'Margaret' and the birth date of 'November 21, 1773'
