Kathy Mayfields G-grandmother was Orazio & Mary's daughter Marguerite Benintendi who died in Webb City 1968 & who was married to David Ethaniel Garner. He left Marguerite and went to Calif. when their two daughters (Edith and Eva) were small leaving her to raise the girls alone. Marguerite was not only bitter and the family was embarrassed by these things back in those times, but raising the girls was difficult. Their daughter Eva Garner who married Paul Mayfield, is the one who raised Kathy. Kathys parents were Eva's son Roger Mayfield and his wife Retha Shoemaker.

Sara Fanning, also a great-granddaughter of Marguerite Benintendi Garner, found the WWI Draft Registration record for David Ethaniel Garner. It was completed in Seattle, Washington sometime in 1917-1918. He listed Marguerite as his wife and he listed them as sharing an address in Seattle. Evidently, she and his two daughters, Edith and Eva, left Missouri with him and moved to Washington. He then left for California and his family moved home to Missouri.
