... Margaret Wylie, b. 1843, was the third child of Theophilus and Rebecca Wylie. She married Arthur Calvin Mellette, who was a boarder at her parents’ home in the 1860’s. He would later go on to be the first Governor of South Dakota, which became a state in 1889.
