Margaret (Wardwell) Bowden, 81, died Feb. 19, 2002, at Ellsworth. She was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Castine, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Coombs) Wardwell. She worked for many years as a nurses aide at the Castine Community Hospital. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Betty Watson and her husband, Kip of Hancock, Joyce Bennett and her fianc‚, Don Jewett of Bucksport; one sister, Marjorie Smith and her husband, Paul of Winterport; six grandchildren, Lori Ward, Rick Landry, Wendy Sumner, Scott Watson, Amie Kane and Lisa Winters; 19 great-grandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Ormond in 2000; two sons, Brian "Skip" Bowden and Bruce O. Bowden; a brother, Thomas Wardwell; and four sisters, Elizabeth Hickey, Ruth Rollerson, Ada Bemis, and Barbara Pollen. At her request, there will be no services.
