Margaret Meekins was born on 7th August 1882 at Southwark in the southern suburbs of London. She was the daughter of Margaret Meekins, formerly Litford, and her husband Henry Meekins, a general dealer. Young Margaret was baptised on 10th September 1882 at the Catholic Church of Our Lady of La Salette and St Joseph in Bermondsey.

Sadly Margaret died when she was just a few months old, early in 1883. Her mother died shortly afterwards.
