    MARGARET (HERRON) LANSDEN
    was born at Lavinia, Carroll Conty, April 15, 1856, and died September 2, 1920, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.L. Noel, in Lexington where she made her home for the past two years.

    She was the widow of the late R.D. (Rufus Delaney) Lansden, former sheriff of Carroll County and had been a teacher in the Madison County schools for several years, after which for the past seven years, she had been employed by the government in Home Demonstration work. Mrs. Lansden was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

    Her death was the result of complications of diseases thought to be attributed to a fall she received on the streets of Jackson about 4 years ago.

    She is survived by two brothers, M.F. (Milton) Herron, Nashville and Tom Herron, Trezevant; one sister, Mrs. J.B. (Elvira) Townes of Jackson; three daughters, Miss Opal Lansden of Jackson; Mrs. J.W. Swink Jr., Ardmore OK and Mrs. W.L. (Mary) Noel of Lexington, and one son R.D. (Rufus) Lansden of Ardmore, OK.

    The burial took place at Atwood, Carroll County.
