The Clinton Herald Friday September 27, 1935 p. 13 Morrison, Ill., Sept.27 - Mrs. Zean D/ Carney, 59, passed away suddenly at 6:45 Thursdayevening following a stroke suffered at 4 p.m. in the Whiteside countyfarm, where she and her husband have been in charge for the past 16years. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon with a prayer at 2p.m. in the Carney chapel and at 2:30 p.m. in the M.E. church. Burialwill be in the Grove Hill cemetery. The deceased, formerly Miss MargaretFlynn, was born in Fulton, Feb. 28, 1876. She was united in marriagewith Zean D. Carney, June 21, 1899, in Morrison. They farmed for anumber of years in Portland township and then took over the managementof the county farm. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs.Byron Pinney of Clinton, Iowa; two sons, Arlyn and Elbert of Morrison;her mother, Mrs. Mary Flynn of Clinton; a granddaughter, Patricia Pinneyof Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. A. Stulman of Chicago and Mrs. A.J. Youngof Clinton; and a brother, Conelius Flynn of Fulton. A son, Roland, twobrothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
