Hale Collection, Connecticut Headstone Inscriptions Vol 41 713-1 Trinity Cemetery, Portland, p. 20: "Hall, ['Mary' overwritten 'Mercy'], wife of John, died Oct. 1, 1767, age 66 yrs." If this is Mercy (Ranney) Hall, born 1695, the date of death on the gravestone, recorded in the 1930's, might really have been 1761 or 1762 consistent with the VR death record.

Barbour Collection, Middlesex Vital Records, page 205 "Hall, … Mary, w. of John, d. Oct. 1, 1762 [1:6]" Both John's death and his marriage to Sarah Gaines are also cited as being taken from page 1:6 of the original Middletown records indicating that all these records pertain to the same family.

There is no memorial for Marcy/Mary/Mercy (Ranney) Hall in Find A Grave as of 10 October 1724.
