↑ According to the Dighton records, there are two daughters named Marey or Marcy, one in 1780 and the other in 1792. Both look identical as written in the records. Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. Pierce Genealogy. : Being the Record of the Posterity of Capt. Michael, John and Capt. William Pierce, Who Came to This, p. 81, lists both daughters Mary, and show both (!) m. Samuel Phillips and dying 6 Oct 1844. Taunton VRs give the death of Polly Phillips, w. Samuel, in 1844 age 64. So the 1780 birth must be Marey and the one who married Samuel Phillips, and since she did not die young, the daughter born in 1792 presumably is Marcy then. What happened to her has not been discovered.
