MARCUS HOLIDAY, Ends His Life Monday Evening With Charge From Shot Gun.
Mr. Holiday was in Winchester Monday morning visiting his sister, Mrs. Oscar Ertel. He left Winchester about 3:30 in the afternoon and drove his own machine to the Hubbard farm where he had been employed as a farm hand, went upstairs, changed his clothing and took the shot gun with the excuse that he would kill a weasel. Shortly afterward a shot was heard and Mr. Hubbard's son found him dead. He had placed the shot gun between the spokes of a wagon wheel and touched the trigger with a stick held in his left hand. A note was found addressed to Mrs. Ertel saying goodby to all, that his son Robert should have his car and expressed his wish to be buried beside his father in the Mooreland cemetery.

Three children survive, Ruth, John and Robert, who lived with their mother, divorced from the father eight or nine years ago; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Ertel and Mrs. Carol Bond; two half brothers, Finley Butler and Harry Butler. (Godfrey Chapman Snyder married Elizabeth Holaday a cousin to the above Holadays)

Marcus Holaday, son of William H. and Eliza Ann Holiday, was born January 24, 1881 and departed this life, June 25,1928, age 47 years, 8 months and 26 days. He later was married to Inez Black, Dec. 24, 1906. To this union were born 5 children, three sons and two daughters. One son and one daughter have gone on before to wait for his coming. He leaves to mourn his loss two sons and one daughter and two sisters and two half brothers and many other near and dear relatives.
