Jacob2 Coverstone (1791-1842), son of Jacob1 and Elizabeth (Miller) Coverstone, was
born in Shenandoah Co. Virginia. In 1811 he married Mahala4 Elizabeth Clem (1790-1852), a daughter of Johann3 David Clem (Johan Davidt2, Johann Conrad1) and Elizabeth (Sibert) of Shenandoah Co. (footnote 4) Mahala and Jacob had ten chidren, eight being born in Shenandoah Co. In 1825 the Coverstones moved from Shenandoah Co. to Licking Co. Ohio. They moved again in 1830, with Mahalas brother Joseph Clem, from Licking Co. to Adams twp. Champaign Co. Ohio. Relatives of Mahala Clem had already settled in Champaign Co. including and Mahalas brother, Isaac Clem, who had settled at Johnson twp., Champaign Co. in 1828. (footnote 5)
In Champaign Co. the ninth and tenth children of Jacob and Mahala Coverstone were born.
Of their nine children, three Jacob, Lewis and Mary Ann married into the Windsor family.
