[edit] Correspondence from a descendantSubj: Re:Allisons & Kerrs
I saw a message re the Allison Kerr marriages-births in the 1700/1800s on genforum. My Mom is 84 yrs old and was raised in IL by her Grandmother whose maiden name was Lucy Jane Allison. She was b in MO. But I found a census record on the LDS site of her family from 1880 living in Spencer,Pike Co.,MO when she was 15 yrs old. I know for sure it is her family because my is still alive, lives with us and remembers most of the names. The father was Marion Allison-44-b MO-farmer-father b VA-mother b VA mother- Heneretta- 39-b MO-hswf-father b VA-mother b VA dau- Magdaline- 21-b MO-at home-father b MO-mother b MO dau- Nannie- 19-b MO-athome-"" "" dau- Lucy- 15-b MO-at home-"" "" dau- Mary- 13-b MO-at home-"" "" son- Thomas- 10-b MO-at home-"" "" son- Ira- 8-b MO-at home-"" "" James KERR-father-law-marital status W-(widowed)86yrs old,b VA-father b VA-mother b VA [Note that this census confuses the names of Magdalene and her 2 eldest daughters. The transcription above correctly represents the census, but the names should be Magdalene, age 39, Nannie, age 21 and Henrietta, age 19, based on earlier censuses).--DataAnalyst 23:55, 29 January 2021 (UTC)] Do you think this could have anything to do with your Allisons and Kerrs? My Mom as I said was raised by Lucy. Lucy m a Squire A. (Abrahamson) Bell b abt 1855 from Clarke Co, VA. They had my Grandmother Virgie Bell in 1885. Squire for some reason was living with a Beaver(s) family as young as 14/15 by 1870 for some reason. then in 1880 was living with another Beavers family where he was listed as a nephew along with another Bell named Fannie who could possibly be his sister. Looking back at some Old census indexes there were Beavers in Clarke Co. in 1860. But I'm getting off track in a way. It's just that parts of these familys came to MO and eventually got mixed up and became part of my family. Do you think the Allison's I've listed above could be part of your Allison's? And I'm sorry to be so long winded. Thank you for any time you can give me it is much appreciated. Sincerely, References
