Letter from Judith Ziegler Woodard to her granddaughter, Anna Woodard, December 2020. My Grandma was my Dad's mom, Mable Ziegler. Her husband was pleasant and joked and teased us, but I never saw him go to church with Grandma. I don't know if he was saved. We loved to go to their cabin at Turkey Foot Island at Indian Lake [Logan County, Ohio]. We took the rowboat out into the lake, but not far. The cabin was rustic with an outhouse. Later we found the location and a bigger, new house is there. Once, when I was 18 or so I was allowed to drive there with two friends from school. We rowed the boat and has such fun! I was embarrassed when I jumped into the water and the top of my swimsuit came down! We all laughed with each other. Grandma Ziegler went to the little Methodist church that is still on Route 307 about 5 miles west of Kenton [Hardin County, Ohio]. They lived at 9114 Township Road 125 in Cessna, Hardin, Ohio. Tom and Janice Kuck live there now. The house was much smaller then. I got to go to church with Grandma a few times. I was never sure why my Dad did not become a Christian. His sister and brother became Christians. Grandma always wanted to be a nurse but it takes money for that. When she went with my Mom to see me get my nursing cap at a ceremony in a church she smiled so much! I visited her often after we moved back to the Kenton area from Columbus. The last time I remember seeing her she lived in town [Kenton] and I showed her my new baby, Amy.
