Mabel Carlat Henderson passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She was born June 25, 1917 west of Auburn and is the daughter of Jesse and Mary Carlat. She attended Auburn Schools and after graduation taught school for 4 years. She married A. R. (Dick) Henderson December 24, 1938. They had three children, Richard, Kay, and Joyce. Mabel was actively involved in the Auburn Community. She was a member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church and the Social Hour Club. In later years she was a member of the Topeka YWCA where she enjoyed swimming and exercising with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, son Richard and sister Virginia Hyatt. Her survivors include her daughters Kay Steward and husband Gaylen and Joyce Foster and her husband Peter, 2 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Auburn Presbyterian Church.
