    COUDERSPORT - Mrs. Lydia Stearns Tassell, wife of the late Dr. William H. Tassell, passed away at her home on Oak Street here Monday morning. (December 8, 1941). Mrs. Tassell was born August 18, 1861, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Consider Stearns. On April 15, 1886 she was united in marriage to Dr. William Tassell who passed away about five years ago. Funeral services will be conducted at the Crandall Hill Hebron Church Wednesday at two o'clock, following a prayer service at the home at one-thirty PM. The Rev. Mr. Sickler of Eldred will officiate and cousins will act as pall bearers. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery. Funeral in charge of Grabe Funeral Home. She was a member of the Seventhy Day Adventist church. Surviving are the following children: Carl Tassell, Andover, NY; Grace Tassell, Coudersport; Edwin Tassell, Brooklyn, NY; and Dr. Harold Tassell of Rochester; two grandchildren, Esther and Gene Tassell.
