Lydia Orvis Is Called By Death

    Following a long period of frail health, death came peacefully yesterday to Lydia Jane Orvis, beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Orvis and granddaughter of the late William Snow, Miss Orvis was born at Milton, on the old Snow ranch, 32 years ago, and graduated from the Oakdale high school.  While her health permitted she took an active part in the work of the First Christian Church, was devoted to the cause and widely esteemed throughout the congregation.  Mr. and Mrs. Orvis, who are East, have been notified of their daughter's death and are hastening home.  They left Chicago last night.  Two brothers also survive the deceased, William S. and Henry Bruce Orvis, both of Stockton.

    The funeral will take place Tuesday, October 19, 1926, at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of B. C. Wallance, Channel and Stanislaus streets.  Interment Park View.  Friends and acquaintance are invited to attend.
