  3. ↑ Lydia's death record Vol. 26, p. 147 is found among deaths in the Town of Orange during the Year next preceding May 1, 1847. It is indexed as "1847" in familysearch.org and "1846-1847" in americanancestors.org. Clearly if the death occurred in Oct prior to May 1847, it occurred in Oct 1846. It records the death as 5 Oct, but since the line above is also recorded on 5 Oct, there is a strong likelihood this is a copying error while preparing the state record. So the gravestone is presumed correct.
