  • Parents = "Todd Messick and De Etta Mayberry", sourced on birth record 1
  • Christina's mother was Roxie De Ette Mayberry, whose parents are unknown. She was raised by her grandparents John Pinkney Mayberry and Louisa L Hayes. De Ette was married 1st to Harry Brock East who died in 1926. They had one son, Kenneth Sewell East. De Ette married 2nd Thomas "Todd" Lewis Messick the following year. He was a widow with two children from his first wife.
  • Christina was born into a blended family and had three half-siblings.
  • Sometime during the early 1930s, before Christina was ten years old, her father died and the family was split up.
    • Christina's mother continued to live in Eagle Mills, Iredell county, NC near her Mayberry family with her first son, Kenneth East, for a while, but eventually moved to Charlotte, NC, where she rented out rooms. It is possible that her 3rd husband was J.S. Hinson (needs verification).
    • Christina's half sister Virginia Messick married and started a family in Iredell county.
    • Christina's half brother Jack Messick went to live with his uncle's family (James M Gatton & Mattie Hayes).
    • Christina went to live with Bruce and Lillian Hayes, childless extended relatives in New Jersey. Christina's adoptive father, Bruce Durand Hayes, was a younger brother of Bessie Hayes who was Christina's aunt by marriage (i.e.married to Samuel Floyd Messick, the younger brother of Christina's father). As can be seen, the Hayes and Messick families were well intertwined and intermarried with family members living in both Iredell county, NC and Ocean county, NJ.
  • Abt 1950, Christina married Norval J Mark of Philadelphia where they lived and raised at least 2 children.
  • In 1993, her husband passed away.
  • Christina moved to Chugiak, Anchorage, Alaska, where her daughter's family lived.
