Rohrer, Lydia Herich, daughter of Fredinand and Catherine Martin, was born near Kokomo, Ind., July 31, 1867. She was united in marriage to Frederick Rohrer in the fall of 1886. In the spring of 1887 she united with the Church of the Brethren. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive. For thirty years they lived within the territory of the Walnut church near Argos, Ind. In the spring of 1922 the family moved to North Manchester. Her family and the church were the two major interests of her life. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Eld. J. H. Wright and the writer. R. H. Miller, North Manchester, Ind.
- ↑ According to the records of Pearl Rebecca Rohrer, Lydia was a Methodist and Fred, a member of the Brethren church. During the first winter of their marriage they would sit in front of the fire, read the Bible, and discuss differences. Lydia “read myself into the Church of the Brethren”. Pearl (Neal) Rohrer remembered her as a “most delightful Christian woman, very concerned for her lord's work and for her children, all of whom were well taught by their mother”.
- Unsure the exact date that the Rohrers lived in Paradise Prairie Oklahoma.
