- ↑ John Dix and Samuel Dix of Reading both had wives named Lydia. No marriage record exists for Samuel, and John's marriage record leaves the surname of his wife blank. Samuel's wife d. 1693 after having children born in 1689 and 1692. Another Lydia Dix d. 1699, presumably John's wife since he remarried a year later, after a marriage in 1692 and children born in 1693 (twins), 1695, 1697, and 1699.
Francis Burrill in his will dated 12 Oct 1704 [Essex Probate 4236] leaves two sheep to the children of his daughter Liddiah Dix, there presumably being two children. Robert Burnap in his will dated 4 Oct 1695 [Middlesex Probate 3609] explicitly names his son[-in-law] John Dix. (Like with his other married daughter, Robert Burnap names the son-in-law in lieu of the daughter, so to be clear, no explicit indication or suggestion is given by this that his daughter is deceased, i.e., since she did not die until 1699.)
So it is clear that Lydia Burrill married Samuel Dix sometime before 1689, and Lydia Burnap married John Dix in 1692.
