BURBANK, Lydiah (Burbanke), d. John and Jemima, (born) 7 : 2m : 1644. [Note: In old-styles dates, the second month is April. More info may be found here.]
↑ Many secondary sources identify Abraham Foster's wife as Lydia, daughter of John and Jemima (-----) Burbank of Rowley. That Lydia was born 7 April 1644 which would make her about 13 years of age at the birth of her first child, Ephraim, in 1657, a chronology that renders her highly unlikely as a first wife for Abraham although she could have been a later wife. Other sources identify her as a daughter of Caleb and Martha, whose oldest child is born 1671, which is even less likely. In a deed Essex:13:205 that serves as his will, Abraham Foster Sr. of Ipswich, gives land to son Ebenezer that he purchased of Caleb Burbank of Rowley [see Essex deed 14:299 ], neither purchase nor gift indicating any relation to Caleb, gives land in Bradford to be divided between his two daughters (John Burbank's 1681 will confirmed land in Bradford and Merrimack to Lydia and her husband [Essex Probate 4009]), and gives Lydia all the household furniture her "father Burbank" gave her.
