There is a Luther D. Shaw buried in the Clapp Cemetery in Walker County, Texas, next to several other Shaws of our tree, namely Elias T. and Mollie. Born 1880, died 1974, "Father." Next to Lillie Shaw, born 1879, died 1957, "Mother."

Luther was known to have told tall tales. Daddy Joe was telling him one time what a good squirrel dog their dog Rover was, and Luther said, "my dog's such a good squirrel dog, I just tell him whether I want a broiler or a fryer, and he'll tree one for me."
