Lulu Craft Clement was born at Perry, Dallas Co., Iowa, August 31, 1881, and died at her home at this place Friday afternoon, August 25, 1905. When but a small child she came here with her parents and had always made this place her home. March 25, 1899, she was married to J. B. Clement. To them were born two children, both of whom, with her husband survive her. Not long after her marriage her health began to fail and she was a great sufferer till death came to relieve her, but she bore her sufferings with a cheerfulness that was an inspiration to all who knew her. She never complained but was always bright and hopeful, tho realizing there was no cure for the disease that had fastened its hold upon her.
About a year ago she united with the Seventh Day Baptist church and until she became too feeble to do so regularly attended its services. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor at the regular hour of service Sabbath morning. The church was filled to overflowing by those who had come to show their respect to one whom they had known and loved. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the bearers were ladies selected from that order. Her husband and family have the sympathy of the entire community.
