Lucy was married to Solomon Wood in 1776 as shown by her mother's probate. The probate also identifies Lucy's mother as a single woman, i.e., never married. Lucy's marriage to Solomon gives her name as Lucy Stone. No marriage of Lucy Reed to a Mr. Stone has been found. Lucy was born in 1750, so it is possible that she did have such a first marriage. Alternately, her unidentified father may have accepted responsibility for her, and she took his name? More research is required.
