    Suddenly, at Saginaw, Mich., Dec. 3, 1890, of apoplexy, Mrs. Lucy B. Hardin, wife of Daniel Hardin, Esq., aged 74 years and 2 days.
    Mrs. Hardin was born in Leonardsville, N. Y., Dec. 1, 1816. She was the youngest child of Isaac Brown, one of the earliest settlers of the town of Brookfield, N. Y. In early life she united with the First Brookfield Seventh-day Baptist Church, with which she always retained her membership. In 1840 she married Mr. Hardin, and in 1867 the family removed to Saginaw. She leaves her husband, one son, Abner C. Hardin, and one daughter, the wife of Mr. John F. Brand, of Saginaw.
    Her life was marked by those graces which best adorn the life of a wife and mother. Always a consistent observer of the Sabbath and a faithful Christian, she leaves behind her a most gracious influence. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
    Funeral services were held in Leonardsville at the residence of Mr. J. O. Wheeler, Sabbath-day, Dec. 6, 1890, conducted by her pastor. Interment at Leonardsville. W. C. D.
