Brief funeral services for Mrs. Fremont C. Monroe were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Gray and Albrecht funeral home with Dr. Edwin B. Shaw, Milton, officiating. Burial was in the Milton Junction cemetery. The body of Mrs. Monroe, who died Nov. 21 in Battle Creek, Mich., was brought here after services there Nov. 23.
Lucy Isabelle Baker was born Sept. 29, 1863, in Juneau, Dodge county, Wisconsin. She was married to Fremont C. Monroe on March 23, 1887, and they lived in Milton Junction and vicinity until 1908, when they moved to Battle Creek. She was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist church and Ladies' Aid society, the W.C.T.U., and until her health failed, was connected with the Charitable Union of the city.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Earl Davis, Battle Creek, Mich.; Mrs. Gerald Wells, Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. Byrl Deuel, Jackson, Mich.; four grandsons; six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Herbert L. Baker, Milton Junction.
