LuElla Fern Grose, 94, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at F.W. Huston Senior Living Center in Winchester. She was born May 14, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Walter George and Delia DeWitt Peterson. She was a 1940 graduate of Columbia Heights High School in Anoka County, MN. She had lived in Oskaloosa since 1961, moving from California. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, CA, she also worked for Chapin and Hundley Variety Stores, Larison Grocery Store, Smith-Rouse Window Factory and Paradise Doughnut Shop, all in Oskaloosa. She was a member of Oskaloosa United Methodist Church and Oskaloosa Rebekah Lodge #747. She married Walter Leland Grose on October 17, 1945 in Santa Monica, CA, he preceded her in death on March 20, 1981. She is survived by son, Thomas Grose, and daughter, Nancy (Glenn) Powell, both of Oskaloosa, one sister, Betty Jean Westlake, Jaynesville, CA, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Mary Ann White, Hazel Opal Mettin, and Norma Delamae Hedemark. Memorial Service 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 26, 2017, Oskaloosa United Methodist Church.
