Louisa Etherington was born on 1st January 1871 at Puttenham in Surrey, daughter of Louisa Etherington, formerly Buckell, and her husband Charles Etherington, an agricultural labourer. Louisa's baptism the following month gives the family's abode as The Heath in Puttenham, and young Louisa appears there in the 1871 census living with her parents and siblings.

She was still living at The Heath in the 1881, by which time her father had died.

In 1890, aged 19, Louisa had a son called Albert. The following year the census finds Louisa and Albert living at The Heath with Louisa's mother. Louisa was working as a general domestic servant.

By 1901, Louisa had left Puttenham and moved to Ealing in Middlesex. She was working as housekeeper for Enoch Kempson, a builder, whose wife had died in 1897. Her son Albert was boarding with her there. Louisa continued living with Enoch Kempson, appearing in the 1911 census described as housekeeper and cook.

In December 1917, during the First World War, Louisa married Enoch, who was some 35 years her senior; when they married she was 46 and he was 81. They were married for about five years, until Enoch's death in 1922.

At the outbreak of the Second World War, Louisa was living at 59 Drayton Gardens in Ealing. She died in 1941, aged 70, and was buried at the Ealing and Old Brentford Cemetery in Ealing.
