Worked for Sir Alfred Watkin(1846-1914) Civil Engineer, director of several railways.
SIR ALFRED WATKIN (1846-1914) This Alfred (known as 'Little Alfred') was the son of Sir Edward William Watkin and May Briggs Watkin (nee Mellor). By profession a civil engineer Alfred was, like his father, the director of several railway companies and was for a time MP for Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Alfred married Catherine Payne Smith: they had no children and the baronetcy died out.
