    Scott, Louis Sherrell
    Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Louis Sherrell Scott, 60, Gadsden, who died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004. Bro. David Brecheen will officiate. Burial in Rainbow Memorial Park. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing. Mr. Scott was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School. He was in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War as an MP in Germany. Mr. Scott was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids and loved them very much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by Mama and Papa Nix; father, Homer Scott; and brother, Archie Scott. He is survived by his wife, Julia Scott, Gadsden; son, Lee (Tiffany) Scott, Southside; adopted son, Ty (Michelle) Cates, Gadsden; mother, Ruby (Dube) Battles, Reece City; sister-in-law, Pat Chastain, Attalla; grandsons, Bradley and Brayden Scott, Southside; adopted granddaughters, Jessica and Crystal Cates, Gadsden; and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ed Kidd, Wayne Stephens, Darrell Dunn, Scott Oliver, Walt Staples, Mark Kidd, Jeff Johnson and Mark Winn. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Hammond, Lookout Mountain Senior Citizens, Rainbow City Fire and Rescue Squads, employees of Food World, Rainbow City and Riverview Regional Medical Center Emergency Room Staff. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
