- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The published VRs of Sudbury have a birth of Lois Hayden on 24 Mar 1730/31. This is incompatible with the birth of brother William on 18 Oct 1731 in the same source, even if she died immediately. Inspecting records available online yields two different dates for Lois.
One record gives the date 24 Mar 1730/1 but note that the other dates on the same page are from the 1740's with a few from the late 1730's, suggesting perhaps it was miscopied or recorded after the fact. Further, the first three children are recorded together here, including William but no Lois (the births spanning a time range in which this birth should fall), and which uses the date 24 Mar (with a different year) for daughter Mary. That the 24 Mar 1730/31 date is a hybrid of the dates for Mary and William further raises doubts.
Another record gives the birth of Lois as Jun 1740 which fits into the family better.
There seems to be little coverage of this family, no further record of Lois has been located, and there appears to be no probate for the father (which might at least hint at the proper birth order).
