    LOIS VIRGINIA COMPTON spent her childhood in Henry County, Tennessee.

    Lois attended the Osage Elementary School and the E. W. Grove High School in Paris, Tennessee. She graduated from the E. W. Grove Senior High School in 1944. She played basketball on the E. W. Grove Senior High School team.

    Lois came to St. Louis to live with a cousin and find employment after graduation from high school. She worked in Civil Service as a key punch operator. She later worked part-time as an office secretary. She later worked for a chimney cover company assembling chimney covers in her home.

    Lois became a member of Oak Hill Union Church, Henry County, Tennessee in 1939. She later became a member of Euclid Baptist Church, St. Louis, Missouri. She later became a member of First Baptist Church, Ferguson, St. Louis County, Missouri. She served as Sunday School secretary for several years.

    Lois loved cats, bird watching and being in the outdoors.

    Lois is buried in Memorial Park, St. Louis County, Missouri.
