    Mrs. Lois Burdick Smith, daughter of the late Almond and Celinda Oviatt Burdick, and wife of S. C. Smith, was born in the town of Amity, Allegany Co., N. Y., Feb. 23, 1833, and died near Milton Junction, Wis., Dec. 21, 1901.
    Sister Smith made a public profession of faith in Christ when she was a girl, and united with the Scio Seventh-day Baptist church. After coming to this country she united with the Milton Junction Seventh-day Baptist church, and continued a staunch and faithful member till death. Dec. 23, 1899, she was married to S. C. Smith, who, together with a son by a former marriage, mourn their loss. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." G. J. C.
