  3. ↑ The given name of this child is far from clear. The middle name is Brooks. In Chesterfield records, the given name is mostly obliterated, possibly ending in "-on". In the church records, it appears to be "Linnel", but with some question. The History and Genealogy of the Families of Chesterfield, p. 19, declined to specify a name, using "--- Brooks Anderson", and the Genealogy of John Ewell, p. 41, gives the name as "Wyman".
