Lily Harry was born on 5th April 1907 at Plymouth in Devon, daughter of Mary Emma Curner, formerly Bond, and John Edwin Harry, a postman. Mary and John were not married at the time of her birth, presumably because Mary's first husband was still alive. They did eventually marry, but not until 1934, by which time Lily was an adult with children of her own. Lily was baptised at the King Street Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Plymouth in June 1907. The 1911 census finds Lily living with her parents and younger sister living in two rooms at 89 Cambridge Street in Plymouth.
Lily married Harold Tyacke in 1929, aged about 22. They appear to have had three sons together born during the 1930s in Plymouth. Lily's father John died in 1935.
Harold died in 1985. Lily survived him by nine years and died in 1994, aged 86.
