Absalom's son, Libeus/Libbeus/Libbius Forbes (1774 or 1773-1844), and Mrs. Hannah Warren, both of Upton, Massachusetts, were married in 1795. They had a son, Jasper, in 1796, and a daughter, Minerva, in 1797. Mrs. Hannah Forbes married John Wood at Upton in 1804. Libeus Forbes was living in Knox County, Ohio, by 1814 and in Richland County by 1817, when he gave land to his son Jasper. In his will, written in Springfield Township, Richland County, Ohio, in 1844, he named a son, Libeus, and two daughters, Rachel and Harriet, all under age. Libeus and his wife, Elizabeth Forbes (1790-1875) are buried at Ganges Cemetery, Richland County, Ohio. Jasper Forbes moved from Richland County to Champaign County, Ohio, ca. 1817.

Absalom Fobes was serving in the Continental Army as early as 1775. He was killed in the battle of White Plains, New York, in 1778, leaving four minor sons. His son, Libeus Forbes, was born in 1773 or 1774 at Northbridge, Massachusetts. He married Hannah Warren at Grafton, Massachusetts, in 1795. They had two children, 1796-1797. Libeus and Hannah were divorced before 1804, Libeus and his son, Jasper, headed west. They were living in Knox County, Ohio, by 1814. When Libeus remarried ca. 1817, Jasper Forbes left home and settled in Madison County, Ohio.
