Lewis Seale is first found in Marion County Mississippi prior to 1820. He signed the marriage bonds when his sister Lydia married Thompson Phillips in 1818. He is shown as one of the founders of the old Palestine Baptist Church in Raymond/Learned, Mississippi community in Hinds in 1826 along with Johathan Kent. Lewis served under Captain Spence in Marion County, Mississippi in the war of 1812. This means, obviously, that the Seals were in Marion by the time of the war having come there from Fairfield, South Carolina. Many of his descendant can still be found in East Texas where he lived out his life.

According to 1860 Union Parish, Louisiana Slave Schedule, Mr. Seale owned 27 slaves.

He was part owner in Laura, a steamship in the state of Texas, which trave led the Neches & Angelina Rivers, ending in Beaumont, Texas. It was used to transport cotton.

Lewis Perry died near the Fish Hatchery in Jasper, Jasper Co., Texas.

L. P. SEALE appointed commissioners to mark out a road from WASSON's to Mr. HUNT's, on the Arkansas line. (Union Parish Louisiana Police Jury Minutes, Second Book, 22 July 1844 - 21 November 1846) Source: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/la/union/court/policejury2.txt
