Will of Lewis Ragsdale, Senior

In the name of God, Amen. I, Lewis Ragsdale of Logan County and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make and ordain this as my last will and testament in manner and form following hereby revoking and annulling all former wills. First it is my desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. Secondly, I desire that all my estate of every description be sold. Thirdly, I desire that all my estate after paying my just debts, etc. be equally divided between all my children, deducting from my son Lewis what may be my daughter Sally Page's portion of my estate be given to my granddaughter Agnes T. Wright when my estate is divided the remaining two thirds of said portion I hereby give and bequeath to my daughter Sall I Page and the other heirs of her body to been joyed by them forever. Fifthly, my son George I. Ragsdale having departed this life, I desire that his children be entitled to his part of my estate. Lastly, I hereby appoint my friend William T. Evans, Executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof, I hereto setmy hand and seal this 26th day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty two.

Logan County Marmaduke B. Morton, clerk of the said Logan County Court do certify thatat a county court held for said Logan County at the courthouse in Russellville on the 24th day of March 1845. The last will and testamentof Lewis Ragsdale, decd. was produced in court and proven by the oaths of Thomas R Wallace and William T Evans. Subscribing Witnesses thereto to be the act and deed and last will and testament of said Lewis Ragsdale, decd. and ordered to be recorded the same together with this certificate hath been duly admitted to in my office given under my hand as clerk ofsaid court the date above.
