    p 46 - LEWIS APPLE, born August 15, 1808. Kept hotel (Citizen's House), at Doylestown, Pa., and later at Line Lexington, Pa., where he died December 19, 1873; buried at Hilltown Church Cemetery, Bucks County, Pa. His wife, Anna Rohn, died at Doylestown, Pa., in 1847. They had one son.
    1 Preston R. Apple, born Nov. 17, 1844; died Dec. 2, 1897. Single. He continued the hotel business at Line Lexington, after his father's death, until 1890.

    LEWIS APPLE married a second wife, Matilda Ott, his cousin, who was his housekeeper. She was born March 23, 1826, died Aug. 1, 1897; buried at Hilltown Church Cemetery. They had three children:
    2 Rodman H. Apple was born February 14, 1854. He married M. Ida Baker, of Lansdale, Pa., and, jointly with his brother Lewis, he engaged in the hotel business at Milton, Pa., in 1890, and eight years later at West Chester, Pa.
    3 Ida M . Apple, born Sept. 27, 1860; died Aug 3, 1897.
    4 Lewis W. Apple, born Sept. 19, 1864; died April 15, 1904.
