Lester E., November 10, 1920, married Mable Blecha, parents of Phillip and Larry Eugene. . .
Lester Spears was the first child born in the new home in 1920 and grew to manhood helping his parents, neighbors, and friends with farm work. Later he worked in Nebraska, where he met and married Mable Blecha of Haigler, Nebr., in 1942. They lived north of Benkehnan where they farmed until the spring of 1946, when they moved to Rawlins County to farm the home place.
Their sons, Philip and Larry, attended the same school (Prairie View Dist. # 40 that their Dad had attended. They lived on the farm until 1955, when they sold their farm equipment and moved to California, where they lived for 24 years. Les then retired in 1979 and bought his mother's home in Benkelman, Nebr., where they live at the present time.
Lester and his family were the last of the Spears family to live in Rawlins County (4 generations).
