Les Watson was employed by Alexander & Baldwin in Hawaii following his service in WWI. During WWII he was a commander in the US Navy civil engineer corps and served in the Pacific theatre. Subsequently, until his retirement, he was an engineer with the Honolulu Water Board. He developed the process by which Hawaii gets its potable water. He headed up the water company. He authored or co-authored the books "Development of Ground Water in Hawaii", 1964; "Old Hawaiian Land Huis - Their Development and Dissolution", 1932; "A Comprehensive Survey of the Harbor System of Hawaii", 1933.
