Adams, age 82, of DeTour Village, Michigan died Monday, September 1, 2008 at his home with his family surrounding him. He was born October 15, 1925 in Painesville, Ohio to Harvey and Grace (Horton) Adams. Until he was eleven years old, Lee lived in Ohio and then his family moved to Kingsley, Michigan. He was a veteran of World War II serving from 1943 to 1946 in the N.C.B. (Seebees). LeRoy worked for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources from 1948 to 1981. During those years, he was stationed in Paradise, DeTour Village, and Norway. When he retired, he made DeTour his home once again where he was an enthusiastic antique dealer and an actor in community plays sponsored by the E.U.P. Fine Arts Council. LeRoy was very active in Little League Baseball for many years. He was also an avid sports fan, both in person at all of the local school sporting events and via television from the comfort of his living room. LeRoy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Reta Jean (Manchester) Adams, whom he married December 20, 1945 in Buckley, Michigan; one daughter, Charlene (Russ) Fountain of DeTour; four sons, Michael (Diane) Adams of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Gerald (Josie) Adams of Chero, Texas, Brian (Cheryl) Adams of Naubinway, Michigan, and Scott (Ann) Adams of Norway, Michigan; seventeen grandchildren, Sean Fountain, Ben Fountain, Eric Fountain, Cari Adams, Jason Adams, Tara Adams, Martin Adams, Leon Adams, Amanda Kivasaari, Brenda Adams, Brittany Cevallos, Tiffany Clayton, Dominic Adams, Jared Adams, Sarah Adams, Andy Adams, and Jenny Fisher; and nine great grandchildren, Alexa, Kira, Kylie, Leah, Deacon, Kegan, Justin, Rachelle and Dane. Also surviving is his sister, Lorene (Dale) Shively of Cadillac, Michigan; his sister-in-law, Reta's twin, June von der Hoff of Interlochen, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. LeRoy was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stacey Adams and by one sister, Helen Pierce. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 5 at 4:00 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home, 24549 S.
