ObituaryLeonard Jeff Christopher, Jr., age 84, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013, at Browns Health and Rehab Center in Statesboro, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Christopher was born on October 18, 1929, in Douglas, GA to late Carolyn Chambliss Christopher and Leonard Jefferson Christopher, Sr.
He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church for 46 years, was a member of the Ernest Harper Sunday School Class, assistant treasurer for many years, and served on the light and sound committee. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Christopher retired from Brooks Auto Parts after 41 years. He was active in the Wiregrass Art Guild and enjoyed his hobby of creating stained glass windows.
Survivors include: his wife, Dona Christopher of Douglas, GA, two daughters, Carol Christopher of Statesboro, GA and Jennie (Frank) Denmark of Swainsboro, GA, grandson, Christopher Denmark of Swainsboro, GA.
Funeral Service were held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson and Tommy Shepard officiating. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
