OHIO CITY - Leona Straw, 88, of Ohio City, died at 12:50am Monday in Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 27, 1906, in Glenmore, the daughter of Fred J. and Dora Elizabeth (Hoverman) Gehres. On April 10, 1924, he married Richard Rex Straw, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons Jason D. Straw of Ohio City and Robert Rex Straw of Winter Park, Fla; a daughter, Mrs. Beth Ann Davis of Auburn, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepmother, Caroline (Hoverman) Gehres; a sister, Esther Josephine Harmon and a great-grandson, Russell William Straw.

Mrs. Straw was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Harrison Township.

Services and arrangements by Cowan & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Melinda Lacefield of St. Paul's United Church of Christ officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
