Obituary

E. Lenore Martin, age 88, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, formerly of Gibsonburg, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday (November 7, 2013) at her home. She was born on October 7, 1925 in Lima, Ohio to the late Clyde & Coila (Medaugh) McGillvary. She married Earl F. Martin on February 19, 1948 in Lima and he passed away on May 31, 2012.

Surviving are sons, David Martin of Archbold, Bill (Kathy) Martin of Gibsonburg, Steve (Anita) Martin of Lambertville, Michigan; daughter, Sue (Glenn) Mohre of Mt. Gilead; sisters, Phyllis (Don) Clum of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Colleen (Gene) Gomez of San Diego, California, numerous grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Gene.

Lenore went to Maumee Valley School of Nursing after high school and received her Registered Nurse Degree. She then worked for St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima and St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. She was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ and the Ladies Friendship Circle of the church. She enjoyed going to garage sales and especially spending time with family.

Friends will be received from 1-2 PM Sunday (November 10, 2013) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio where a Celebration of Life Service will start at 2:00 PM with Minister John Amstutz officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery in Gibsonburg with a bereavement luncheon to follow back at the Wayne Church of Christ. Memorial donations may be given to the church.
