Couple Celebrates 50th Anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee W. Matthews recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. The couple was honored Sunday afternoon at the home of their son, Edwin H. Matthews, on South Oliver street. Mrs. Matthews is the former Mattie Mae Harper, daughter of the late J. A. and Dora Hulme Harper of Elbert county. Mr. Matthews is the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Matthews of Lincoln County. They were married in 1913 in Elbert county where they have lived most of their life. They have one son, a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Seagraves of Gainesville and a grandson.
