    Layton O'Bannion, 84, of Lumberton passed away on Monday at his residence. He was a native of Corbett, Texas and a resident of the area since 1942. Layton served in WWII Army Air Corp, was a retired Convenience Store owner and an active Elder at the Northwest Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Betty O'Bannion; two sons, Terry O'Bannion and his wife Mary and Drake O'Bannion and his wife Bridget; daughter, Beverly Hooks and her husband Roy; six grandchildren, Lori Hooks, Sara Hooks, Michael O'Bannion, Darla Carter, L'Don Allen, Robert O'Bannion; two step-grandchildren, Todd Cross and Michele Cross; seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna O'Bannion, eight brothers, and three sisters.
