Purchased his parents farm in late 1944 and died there. In sawmill business with his father until he retired, then in with brother Francis until he retired. Continued in business alone for some years afterwards. When retired from sawmilling,worked for several years in parts department of Ford Tractor Company in Charlottesville. Operated the farm entire time.
