Laura Moss was born on 28th November 1879 and baptised baptised the following summer at Caddington in Bedfordshire. She was the daughter of a bonnet sewer named Elizabeth Moss. Her father's name is not recorded on the baptism record. The 1881 census finds Laura living with her mother and great-grandmother Susan King at Aley Green in the parish of Caddington.

Sadly Laura died as a child of just two years old, being buried at Caddington on 7th July 1882.
